317 No Spark

I had my 317 out sunday ran fine. Tried to get it out today to mow wouldn't start so I started checking things. To make long story short no spark. Tested condenser checked points made sure all was clean & tight. Any ides?

Check for voltage at the coil, sometimes the wiring can get corroded and loose power to the coil. Also, check and see if you have spark at the points by opening the points with the key on. Ground wire can cause lots of issues. Good Luck. :thumbs:

From memory - I think the PTO switch and/ or the seat switch are in series with the coil. The PTO switches are known to fail. If you have the tech manual the wiring diagram will have the details. Good luck If you need a wiring diagram let me know.

Don't have seat switch. I will check points for spark. Thanks for info. I just haven't been able to work on my Jd's blow out a disk in my back, but hope I can get back at them soon.

Got it running broken wire coming from points.
