I also have an NOS 540, or at least it was when I bought it. I have put it on one of my HT23's before for a show, but there wasn't anyone there who realized how rare they are.  I don't have the 1000 RPM gears though. When I get my Bulldog trencher back together, the 540 PTO will get bolted into that. The trencher was designed to allow the installation of the 540 PTO onto the trencher frame after the side plates and the top guard were unbolted from the PTO unit.

Wow,your a lucky guy, must be alot more of that stuff up your way,two others I saw on E-bay did well over $1000.00,like I said in another post if people don't like the prices on E-Bay you don't have to bid,its one of the best sourses for the parts at what I feel is fair priceing in most cases,I will say there is times that things do go a little high, but if its in demand it will sell, after all where are you going to find some of the hard to find stuff,

Brown ones are for large frames, green ones (Which look the same) are for the front of the Isekis'.

Brown ones are for the early Large Frames; green ones are for the later Large Frames. The one occasionally mounted on one of my HT23's is green.

The ones used on the front of Iseki Bolens tractors are likely also green.

I have the 540 PTO that came off of Sam's trencher, so it's missing the shield.  If someone has and 'extra' one I would like to talk to you  :D :D :D.

I also have one of the 2000 RPM PTOs that's missing the piece of flat stock that the sway chains attach to.  I need to have that fabbed up so I can put it on the HDT.

ETA:

I took a closer look, and it seems that the 18095 and 18906 PTO units didn't have a shield, so I'm OK as is.

If anybody ever wishes to sell their rear PTO (one that will fit a 1886), please keep me in mind. I will pay a realistic price.
