nothing like the sound of shucking a round at 2:00 in the morning to bring FEAR to the heart of some worthless thief that just crawled through your window.

which is why the 870 is my go-to home defense... with very large round lead balls in the mag.

But I wouldn't mind finding a small .380 to use as a pocket gun.

I've got a Ruger LCP and it is super light, I can carry it in my front pants pocket and forget it's there.

Do you need a Concealed Carry permit for that ?

only if he can conceal it... :bounce:

Here a list of mine, both past and present:
Pistols:
Ruger P98 9mm, first pistol (past)
S&W Model 29 44mag, dirty harry special (past)
Ruger SP101 .357, loved that gun (past)
Springfield Custom Loaded 1911 (current)
Ruger LCP, 380 (current)

Long guns (only current):
Marlin .22, first gun and I killed many a squirel with it too
Savage 110 30-06, second gun and I've killed many a deer with it too
Remington Model 512 .22's, killed even more squirrels with this one
Ruger 10/22, just a new toy
Browning Model 99 Trap gun
Browning A-bolt 22-250, another new toy

This is my Springfield 1911 - a blast to shoot and beautiful, what more could you as for?

I keep bird shot as the first 2 shells, then a couple of 00 bucks shells after. That way if the bird shot doesn't stop them the 00 buck will finish them.

Besides my Ruger Mark II, I do have my old cap/ball that I built in shop class in High School. One is a 31cal (Colt copy) "Baby Dragoon" revolver, and a 45 cal Kentucky pistol, both from CVA kits. Not fired either in years. The revolver needs a new cylinder lock. I didn't think to mention the old percussion pistols.

I don't see those black powder pistol kits like I used to.

Myself, I'm more of a rifle kind'a guy. In Illinois I can't carry them concealed, either.

I only have two handguns. A Phoenix 22 pocket pistol & Ruger 22-45 with bull barrel.
My real passion is long guns and more specifically rifles and I like target shooting and varminting. Several .22 rimfires, 22 Hornet Savage Handi-rifle, 223 Savage 10 FP( this one has a 36X scope for factory class benchrest)though I put a 4X12 on for varminting, and the only big bore is a .444 Marlin.
I also hand load for all the centerfires.

Have a couple of small hand guns:
.22 H & R "Forty-Niner" 9 shot revolver. I used to do a lot of target practice with this one. I got it from my grandpa.
.22 Derringer
.25 uhhhhh forgot what it is... OH, a F.I.E.

Also have a very old single shot .22, and a newer .22 semi-auto.

Dixie Gun Works still has plenty of muzzle loading gun kits. Here's a link to the pistol kits

Finally a topic I can participate in lol. I've got a few. I love my mark II. The 22 is a great deadly gun. It will go through Kevlar. Good in bounces around but first have the power for a through and through.

I've got several guns and shoot often.
