I'll keep that in mind, Ronnie. You've gotten me to think about how to build the box to squeeze them down in. I'll have to get the jack out and see how much stroke it has fully open and adjust the length to accommodate that.

Bales note: My freind Don Croddy on the yahoo PK group made a bailer last year. He lives in Kokomo, IN though, quite a ways away! Not sure exact size, could ask. He had hard time selling them and gave many away instead. Not sure how Kraft stores can get to much??  He tore down big bales of straw and stuffed loose into his machine.  Probly cost to much to ship I'm sure.  Fella who made him the bailer has made others, so should be at shows around the country maybe.

I'm just looking for a few to put on it for shows. I'm thinking I'll get 3 large rectangular bales and see how many I get from them.

Kenny, I would start with only one bail. There is a lot of material in a bale that has been compressed with a machine. Not sure if you will be able to compress your bails as tight, and I don't know if you have a use for any "extra." Just my $.02, Lord knows that at times I have bought way more than needed.

You may be right, maybe only 2 bales. I have access to a 12 ton jack. I imagine that would do the trick
