Back in February I bought my very last pickup and the trade in on the old one was so low I had my wife buy it back in her name. My son is going through a divorce and if he bought a vehicle the ex would get to take half of it so the wife let him borrow her's. Yesterday I sold her Astro van she was driving so she was going to get her truck back. This morning on the way to work he ran out of gas and hitched a ride from his boss.

He left the key in the console so the wife could get me to put some gas in it and drive it home. Somehow she forgot to tell me and when he got home the truck was gone. After figuring out it wasn't a joke he called the police and a Deputy came out and took a report. Turned out that if my wife put the truck in her name to keep the ex from getting her share the ex could drive it just like he could. Wasn't the case.

On the way home from work my son's fiance saw the truck at one of the local gas stations and pulled in since she thought he had got it back. A young guy ran in paid for the gas and sped off. She saw him turn off the highway onto a side road and called the police. Four patrol cars with the lightbars flashing came by a couple of minutes later. Still don't know the result but the gas station has cameras on each pump and a couple near the register.

According to the police officer who took the report last month there over over 35 vehicles stolen just in our county. Hopefully this will be the last one.

I hate a thief. Find him and drag him to the police station behind the truck on a rope.

Son called saying the manager at the station can't be bothered to come in and let the officers look at the tapes until tomorrow. By then the truck will be in pieces. I hope the thief burns the place down overnight to destroy the tapes

Hey Bill, how about putting up the phone number of the station. We'll all call randomly about every 45 seconds, demanding to speak to a manager. When he comes on the line, one of us will let you know to alert the cops they can go look at the tapes now.

Sorry to hear of this Bill. Maybe they can catch them even with no help from the station manager. I'd sure be spreading the word about how he acted!

Bill, I hope you guys get your truck back tonight before it's chopped.

I would be calling the owners of the gas station and letting them know how you were treated, also maybe a letter to the editor of your local paper.

Good Luck

I'm surprised the station manager would be like that. Not only does it make you made but the cops didn't like it either and I would want to keep them on my side if I were ever robbed. Sure hope they catch the punk.
