Very glad to hear that bullet came through the surgery and is recovering at home  I'm sure that his bounce-back time will surprise you (Dogs in general seem to recover MUCH faster than their human counterparts), but make sure that you keep him out of trouble and follow the Doctors orders. Thanks also for the update Taylor!

Thanks Steve! Keeping him out of trouble is going to be the hardest part as he is still a puppy and likes to get into EVERYTHING!! :)

Here is a picture of my buddy Bullet after his surgery:

Bullet 8-2-12 004.jpg

As you can see, he is doing great! After 2 days of good rest, he is back to his old self!

If he ever grows into those ears, he's gonna be big. Good looking friend you have there!

He certainly is a handsome specimen! I like German Shepherds as long as they're male. Too many bad experiences with the female of that species. They're great watch dogs and are extremely loyal. Glad he's doing so well!

We had a Shepherd when our kids were growing up. Amazing animal and still missed to this day. You have a very nice looking dog.

Thanks for all the nice compliments guys! He is for sure going to be a big boy. The breeder said that he should hit 100 pounds which is big for a shepherd! This is actually my first dog and I have to say, he was everything that I was hoping for. He does have big ears, huge paws and legs and a big tail to boot! Should grow into himself in a few months.

My parents have always had Shepherds, but they had the Buff Colored ones. They are great companion dogs and usually very docile. They also make people a little wary at times with their looks, which is a good thing in my book.

It looks like Bullit is doing great! BTW great pic.

I own a male German Shepherd. Not sure his age,(he came up as a stray in bad shape) but I have had him for almost 3 years. He had to go through surgery a few years back because of a bladder stone, but is doing great. They are wonderful pets!

They are for sure great companion dogs! I agree that it is a good thing that people do get a little wary of the looks. We have some real nut cases in our neighborhood, so I guess I think of my German Shepherd as a bit of a protector. There is a reason that it seems that criminals seem more scared of German Shepherds than they do tazers or guns when the police come to get them (Yes, I watch Cops).

Thanks for the compliments! Trust me, that picture was hard to take! There is nothing more that a puppy does NOT want to do than sit still for a picture!

That is awesome that you rescued a Shepherd! Always great to hear a success story like that! How about a pic or 2 of him?

He is a good looking animal. We have a German Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix. He is a great dog. We have talked about getting a full blooded one whenever he goes. Since he is a year and a half old it will be a while.
