Don't know what it is. Came with an itty bitty snow plow (heavy build though.) Has a 4-spd trans. PO has right side fender and hood still (somewhere...). Will try and get it running tomorrow. Here are the pics he sent me. Will try and get more tomorrow. Paid $125 for it and a Shaw tractor with discs and cultivators.

Nice find! Cannot say for sure what it is, but I know it is not Wheel Horse.

I think he probably meant to say S17. Looks like the S17 that I once had.

I Googled "Speedex S-7" and found this pic.

I think that could be what you've got there. I'd say it's a Speedex for sure, just not positive on the model.

I was working on it today. Has a very weak and random spark. I cleaned up the mag and still weak and random. I think I need a new mag.

I'll have to check on the case. As for selling the Shaw... It would have to be a hefty offer, as its starting to grow on me.

that's a reasonable responce . i wouldn't sell the shaw ,but i keep seeing this thing in the junkyard and i think it 's a mystery machine , parts from 4 or 5 tractors like shaws or economys all strung together just not whole units but the steering off one the trany off another the frame from a kiaser jeep and what looks to be a continental engine mount maybe edsil don't know but i think it would be fun to find out what it is or was the owner will sell for weight but the thing looks pretty heavy and i don't think i can get that out of it for parts resale if it is a hienz57,. well good luck on the speedex looks like it won't take much if he has all the parts.

Show me a picture if you have one. Or look up Shaw tractors to see what one of their GT's looks like.

I found a working mag on one of my other engines. Sat in water for a while, but it works. Put both adjustment screws to 1 1/2 turns out and it started on the first pull and ran fantastically. I will put the tins back on tomorrow, but need to get some more gas line...
