I have a chance to buy this shredder. It looks pretty rough and may have parts missing???
Here's the pics I was sent.
If someone with one of these could take some pictures so I can see what parts are possibly missing that would be great.

Brian I went to the garage and took several pics of the shredder I bought. It is the one that you found on Craigslist that was close to us. That same fellow also had the Brinly dump cart. Will as always is right on the ball and posted before I got my pictures taken and posted. His shredder is the same brand but it looks like the mountings are different. Mine doesn't have the pulleys but a driveshaft. Hope this helps.Shredder 001.JPG Shredder 002.JPG Shredder 003.JPG Shredder 004.JPG Shredder 005.JPG

It looks like it is missing some side and/or bottom panels to enclose the shredder parts... or is it just the camera angles the photos are taken at? Grand's pics of his make it look like there are more side/bottom sheet metal panels. I know there has to be some kind of discharge chute for the shredder, but that one looks like the whole front side is open, which is a safety hazard as well as it just can't shred anything if it's not enclosed enough! That's just my thought though looking at it...

EDIT - I'd also add, it does look from that excellent video, like the one you are looking at Dr. Bolens is missing the bottom sheet metal and the discharge "screen" it has in the video to be sure it is holding the branches and brush in the shredder part until the debris is small enough to exit the shredder area. Without this, I'd think the mulch it produces would be much too "thick" or just incompletely shredded.

I DO like this model better than a different shredder I think Old Buzzard posted about as it mounts on the BACK of the tractor rather than the front. For some reason to me at least, it seems more intuitive that it should mount on the back and not the front of the tractor.

Grab it!!!

There doesn't appear that there is anything missing that you can't get straight from Mackissic.

The only thing that you may not be able to get from Mackisssic is the part that puts tension on the belt. It would be easy to fab though because it's just a piece of flat stock, two pieces of tube, and two springs.

ok, So can you guys tell if all the hammers/ internal parts are there?
Can you snap a few more pics of the chute, bottom and inside Grand?

If its going to cost more to buy parts than what I can find another complete one for then I will just have to pass on it.

Looks like all of the hammers are present. There should be 24 of them.

It's missing the screen (available from Mackissic), the swinging door (easily fabbed), the 3 rods that attach then (also easily fabbed), the front belt guard (again easily fabbed), and maybe the belt tensing support.

The screen would be the only expensive part. It seems that the 12P uses the same part numbers for those. They are $89.00 each. The standard one is the 1" one (PN 500-04).

Here's some pics of mine showing the areas in question.

Where does the pointed pin on the back end of the shredder frame contact the tractor?

Is there a bracket which gets mounted to the tractor to receive the pin?

Well 3 years later on this thread and I am now the owner of the same shredder in the first post :D

Bought it off another member on here last week

Can one of you guys supply some dimensions for the bracket that supports the shredder to the frame of the tractor (Post 14)

Also looks like I'm going to have to modify the universal joint as the piece that attaches to the spline front of the tractor pto is missing and looks  alot longer than the one used for the Bolens decks, blowers ect. I'm thinking on just ordering some longer square stock and welding a new longer shaft on the chippers universal coupling.
