I have a friend who's moving back to town from a rural location. He told me if I had a decent push mower, he'd trade me his old rider.

The axel was broken (had another) the shifter cover plate missing (again, had another) the hood was off (lower brkt broke) and some other little things. It's a runner now, mows pretty decent.

I took it down where Dad is brush Hogging and it was mowing off the 3ft stuff in 2nd gear.

Don't know what to do with it now. Probably park it by the road & try to sell it, but it could be a decent back-up mower too. Also, the high air flow comfort seat keeps the uncomfortable sweat down significantly.

Alan, it may be just the way the picture was taken but in the 4th pic the right front wheel does not look right. I just got a butt pad for my bike to keep my butt cool on the long rides and here you got one for free. Darn you have all the luck! :poke:

Looks like a pretty good tractor.

So, what you're saying there, is that the boys where happy?

You just might be on to something there. Market it as the "Big Boys Seat"

Bill, I am going to look at that wheel. Didn't see it until you mentioned it... Looks way off... Hmmm.

That sounds so European.

You might be able to sell that on Paradise Beach in Greece.

You plan to mow "Au Natural"? Cool old Monkey Ward mower. Make a good backup, you don't have much in it.

Nice trade Alan. I have gotten quite a few chuckles out of your description of the seat and the other replies that have followed. Even with my bad eyesight, I think Bill is right about lining up that wheel.

Nice old Monkey Wards. It maybe just a bushing in the wheel.

I also noticed the bad wheel, hope it is not to serious! I have the same mower, marked Montgomery-wards and the side panels cover the entire side.

Yep, it was a bad bushing. Poor old thing hadn't seen grease in a while. Probably since the owner before my friend.
Put another set of non-leaky wheels on it since I had to take one off.
I thought it interesting that it says "Commercial" on it...

I am glad it was an easy fix! Mine also says "Commercial" on it. I always laugh every time I see it! LOL!

I just noticed, that it's a "Limited Addition".
That would look good, all gussied up.
