Is the 2300 series tranny housing cast iron or aluminum?

The 2320 as used in Massey & others is aluminum tranny housing, with bolt on cast iron axle tubes.

I have been looking into a JD 110 I beleive it has a four speed peerless tranny in it. And was wandering what the housing or case was made of. And if all of the 100 series had the same tranny?

All JD 110/112 and 200 series use the same peerless transaxle. There is some difference in the brake assemblies but they interchange with each other.

I brain farted. Once you said JD110, I realized it. The 2520 is the one I thought of in the larger Massey's, but I have a 2316A transaxle out of a JD110 (year unknown), and it is all cast steel, or iron. These same series transaxles are in some smaller Massey, and also used in the V series Bush Hog tractors....all steel/cast.
