Thought it would get some better traffic here, though if I can't post here feel free to delete.

I just put up a Manual Kit for the John Deere 140 H3. It has quite a collection of .pdf manuals, and other data. It is a work in progress and through community help I hope to have this as a universal kit for the 140 tractor with (hopefully) an answer to any question a new (or experienced) owner may have. Right now it is in "Alpha" or Version 1.0 and focuses on mostly 1970 and later (though has some info for 1968 and later) but I hope to keep adding to it as more info is available to myself. Thanks for looking.

Here is the link-

I'm sorry, Dane, but Johm Deere will not allow us to have that manual on the site. Here is a link to the thread explaining it all:

Dane, I recently bought a 1974 140 H3 and am having trouble locating manuals for it. It's currently at JD dealership having engine rebuilt and they couldn't help me with manuals. Where did you find the pdf's? Thanks, Phil

check to see if your stator wires are plugged in or if connections are dirty.    [attachment=161592:004.jpg...on some models there is a fuse in the rectifier too...might check that ......the wires from the stator plug into the rectifier....

Dane,

I cleaned the contacts and connectors and the mounting points for the module to make sure there was a good ground and the system is charging now,  thanks for the assistance.

Dane, not sure how to go about PM'ing you. New member and first post, but I have a "few" 140's.

I'm fairly new to the fixation, but would like to have what you have to share.

If you could PM me, I might figure out how to get the link to the goodies you're sharing.

Would you believe it if I said I had four 140's plus implements parked in my garage where my pickup should be

Dane is on a little less frequently than he used to be. He still checks in, but is quite busy going to school etc.
You may be best served by starting a new thread asking questions you may have. Congrats to you on saving 4 pieces of history.

As for PMing, clicking on any members avatar will get you either to a drop down or to their page. Either will have a variant of "Send me a message"
Replies should show as a red box with numbers in the upper r h corner of any page.
