The seat pan on my H16 has a bolt pattern of 8"w x 3"L and looks like that it was jimmied to the seat spring that has a hole pattern of 7.5"w x 7"L. Do you all know which one is correct ?

Hopefully someone with one of these can help you out.
Can you take a picture of your seat assembly. I know there were 2 different styles of seat pans used on some models.

I appears that either the seat pan or seat spring are not original.
If I had to guess I'd say the green seat is not original to that tractor.

I wish I had a tractor I could go out and measure for you but I dont.

Well, for starters, if you have a Bolens tractor, that seat pan is obviouly from a John Deere with that green paint! With the bolt pattern on the seat pan compared with the spring mounting plate, I don't know how that ever mounted on there in the first place. I'd assume you'd have to drill holes in it to get the seat pan to mount. Can you get the right seat for the tractor? There are plenty of people selling Bolens parts online as well as the occasional used parts coming up on eBay. Good luck with it! I don't have one of these tractors myself, but my 850 has an aftermarket seat on it currently.
