Last weekend my wife decided to turn an old rake into a hanger for her garden tools. Problem was that the tines were too straight so things kept falling off. She asked how to bend metal and I told her you just heat it up and hit it with a hammer until it looks like you want it to. So I only got one shot, but here's my wife being a blacksmith.

Good to see her 'fixing' things. As long as she doesn't try this on you, you got a keeper!

That's very cool Rev! It could be the start of a new hobby for her...just think, you'll be buying a forge, an anvil, an assortment of hammers and tongs... Thanks for the pic!

Great picture. If this turns into a new career you might want to get her a different hammer. That looks like an Estwing framing hammer she's using!

That is an Estwing framing hammer, Brian. Good eye. I have three ball-peen hammers and two cross-peen hammers (not to mention some sledge hammers) but the framing hammer stays with my tool belt just inside the garage door. So she grabbed the closest hammer. I have welder's tongs too, but the big blue pliers were already outside, so she used them.

Just what I was going to say. After a few more projects she'll be wanting all that as sitting on the ground will get old. Good to see a lady messing with things like this.

That's neat, that she's doing that. That was my first thought. My second one was, "Safety glasses?" or at least sun glasses.
I guess that's been beat into me by the Labour Board, being I'm an employer.

I have found that the ladies can do almost anything they want, they just usually don't (want) or feel they can't.

Is she willing to do some blacksmithing for pay? I need some hand wrought nails.
