This has been going on since July 3rd...A bad E-coli out break..Close to 400 people showed up...It was there 9th yr...Now 1 dead ..75 sick,,15 hospitalized..It was a carry in Picnic... http://www.whiotv.com/news/news/loca...-picnic/nP22H/ .

Sorry to hear this. Have they determined what caused the outbreak?

I talked to my Buddy..and he said there was a Big A$$ bowl of potato salad..That he suspects..But It was at his Place and probably should of been on Ice..I'm sure the county Health Dept will Find out..It's tearing him up..and now that his friend has died..I'm sure it will mess with him..It was 103* here on july 3rd. It was a Party...Just thought i would post to let everyone know....to try to stay safe ...B,

Byron, that is a very heartfelt warning you have given us.

I hope your friend is able to somehow deal with this. It is unfortunate that someone died. It certainly puts food safety at the forefront.

Very sorry for your friends loss....
My mom is a cook at the local grade school and is always telling us what we need to be doing to stay "food safe". Mom would most likely agree with the potato salad!

Sorry to hear about your friend's buddy . We ahd a family reunion a few years ago and my great aunt got sick ( she was the only one ) thought that it was the potato salad back then , it was on ice and covered but I guess only the bottom would stay very cold depending on how much ice and bowel sizes , Al

Thank you for the reminder. Please tell your friend that we are pulling for and praying for him, his family, all the people who contracted the illness.

Hopefully the two younguns who are still hospitalized will recover soon.

Very sorry to hear of this tragedy. Life can be very fragile...Prayed for all affected in that town, and that we ALL can learn from this, very sad that such a simple fun time like a picnic can turn out so bad. With the unusual temps that many of us are experiencing we all will need to be careful with our food being exposed too long to the heat and sun.
