I sold a guy a 12 hp B&S engine and put it in a plastic MTD and he wanted it back before he had the money to pay for it. He also wanted me to do some carb work on a Husky 1053 so I told him that if he let me pick up the Bolens and signed a bill of sale on it I would deliver the MTD and he could pay me what was owed within 60 days and I would rip up the bill of sale. So for now I own the tractor and hope he doesn't come back for it.

I looked for a serial number plate on it and could only come up with one that has been partially removed. I down loaded the manual, thanks to a member taking the time to share it with the other members and to Bolens for not getting upset over it.

I am posting some photos and hopefully some members can help find the year and pass along any other good to know information.

Thanks,

Thats a pretty nice looking GT! Be kinda nice if he would just forget about the tractor so you could keep it. It looks like its a 1970 ( ran the engine serial on the Wis. Id thread) Its even got the hyd lift, great find (if you can call it that)

I have not worked on many Bolens products but I really like the access to the electrical and fuel systems on this one. No crawling around on your hands and knees to replace an ignition switch or gauge here.

It would be nice if the guy forgets about it! I will hope that you get to keep the BOS in one piece!
