Piddling with the Ford. The valves came in today, but not sure if I'll have time to get her fired today or not. Will try! If I do, I'll get video.

I used my tractor to move two loads of firewood and cut some of the grass. It was a good test since I had to put new power steering hoses on it yesterday. Good to see that after replacing the second one I don’t have any leaks under the tractor. I tried to replace only the one that was leaking, but after the flexing that was needed to replace the rear one I found after putting it all back together that now the front one is leaking also. So it was back to the hydraulic parts store to have them make another. Slowly but surely getting all the bugs worked out of the tractor.

Started taking apart those old discs to modify for sleeve hitch. Gotta finish it tomorrow (In-Law's reunion this afternoon). Kids got to play with all the cousins they live 1/2 hour from & never see.

I cut down and draged a few trees with my GT6K. Worked like a dream. Now I wonder what this thing will do in low gear. Imagine what my SS12 is gonna be able to pull, I cant wait.

Welded a support bracket to the Ford 165's muffler I built. Then went to move a MF12 carcass & blew a hose on my FEL mounted on my 1655. Later in the early evening, I rushed to get the yard mowed before dark & "thought" I had enough diesel in the Kubota....wrong! Took forever to get it bled & fired up, but did, and got the yard finished. Wish it had a low fuel indicator light!

I had to postpone any play time to replace the water pump on my Massey-Harris 81. Dad & I rounded all of his extras up & looked them over... the best feeling one had the right hole pattern & we bolted it on. Then when I tried to put the fan on, it was hitting the top tank on the radiator. Come to find out The center shaft was a full inch higher (dunno how I missed THAT) took it back off & took our 2nd choice. By this time we're getting pretty good at fitting in the pump in & we filled it & drove it before putting the hood back on. Not 1 drop... tomorrow's the parade. Whew. Maybe this weekend I'll get the chance to play with the Craftsman again. LOL

I had one of the big toys out today! I rolled the '52 VAI over to the neighbors house to fetch their JD L130. It seems that the front axle broke (see pic!)and the wheel bearings were...GONE...on the left side! They are very nice people and they usually call me when they need something mechanical done. I'm happy to do it for them as it's priceless to find good neighbors like them.

Yesterday I got the south section of the yard mowed with the craftsman.

Then I took time to look at th ford. it hadn't been running good and I was afraid to use it. Pulled the plug and it was very dirty (tractor uses some oil). Cleaned the plug and it's running like it should.

After that I still had a little time so i pulled the head on the 16 hp Briggs that goes in my MTD 990. cylinder walls look good, Piston had 020 stamped in the top so i am assuming that it has been rebuilt at least once. Valves look cruddy. This motor smoked more that I would like so that why I was going to rebuild it. I might be able to hone it and just put in new rings. I will try to get picture tonight for my rebuild thread.

Friday evening I finished mowing the yard and then got out the ford and the tandem lawn sweepers. Managed to get 70 % of the yard swept.

here is a photo from last year when i first set up the tandem lawn sweepers.
