I was mowing my friends yard with the 112 John Deere and the deck belt snapped. Drove back home, checked my parts department, found another deck with a good belt on it. 15 minutes later I'm back to mowing. Gota love having a supply of spare parts!

Well, Friday I mowed the usual yard I mow, then halfway threw one of em I noticed I had a wheel weight flopping so I ran home and pulled the outer set off and in the process of pulling the tractor back to gain acces to the back side of the bolts I busted the dang seat pan, it was all cracked. Anywho I finished up mowing and noticed my new blades were here so off the deck came for a little scraping action and to throw the new blades on it. Boy does it cut nice now!! Just got done fixing the seat up puttin it on in the morning.

It is a nice Cub. I sure don't get tired of seeing everyone's gt's. I was out mowing on my Craftsman lt4000 and broke the mower belt, again! Sadly no inventory here. It's a 6 mile for a NAPA belt again or 60 mile's to the nerest Sears for OEM.

It wasn't so much what we did with the tractors today but what we got for the tractors. I posted it in the Bolens forum but we picked up two tillers and a sickle bar mower. Here is a link to the post if you want to see them: http://www.gttalk.co...
Finally got some more work done on my CC Original. I wire brushed the redusction housing and put in a new seal (NAPA seal - IH was NLA). Wire brushed the axle carriers and measured the axles - found out that the axles are worn about .010 under spec. but I think I'll take a chance seeing there isn't a seal on the outside, just a bushing. Primed a few pieces and finally am ready for bed. Ahhhh, sleep - at least until I hear "Daddy wake up!" tomorrow at the crack of dawn.

I got some more work done on the homemade tractor, and then went to my grandparents house. Once there i promptly got out the MF12H I keep there and got it stuck in the mud. Then i got my garndfathers montgomery wards tractor stuck trying to get it out. Then i had my brother come out and we got both tractors free.

On my way through the neighborhood this afternoon after work, I saw a lawn mowing outfit that had 7 BIG trash containers (the ones that are picked up by those one-person trash trucks with an articulated arm) stuffed full of bermuda grass clippings. I asked them if I could take the clippings for mulch for my garden. They said I could have all I wanted. SO....... raced home, changed into my "good" clothes, got my PGT9000 and the utility trailer (the ones in the avatar), and made 4 trips back and forth. Dumped all of the grass clippings in between several rows to keep the weeds down and to eventually use as organic matter to till into the soil. It was about 95 degrees outside, so it was a HOT job. Got done in time to rush a welcomed COLD shower and get to church. Got about an hour of seat time!
