Bet you didn't spin a tire. that trailer looks like loaded it provides some tong weight. Don

No, I sure didn't! Plenty of traction.

Well instead of posting this in the BOH thread, My grandson came over this weekend and has took a liking to using an axe. He has chopped several branches on other bushes, but we had some 50mph winds recently and broke a large cedar branch. He wanted to chop it off, so I let him. Here is the results.

The ground froze solid after the rain passed through. Hit 20 degrees this afternoon, so I dropped a dead oak and hauled it out with the Gibson. The tree snapped at it's base during heavy winds and was hung up on other trees. I cut it most of the way through about 4' up, hooked up two long chains to the trunk, and yanked it down with the tractor. I was able to haul the whole tree out in one load and the Gibson had no trouble doing it. For some reason, I liked the sound of the engine holding the tractor back when going down steep hills on the trip out.

Thanks Cat, I'm getting addicted to these Gibson's. I'm rebuilding the engines right now for two more of them. I've been slowly acquiring the parts to get these other machines together and I'm getting there.

There are more Gibson tractors around than you would think, Larry. There is a Facebook Gibson tractor group and tractors pop up for sale all over the country there. The main thing when buying one is to make sure that the ring and pinion in the rear end are good. They don't make the ring and pinion anymore, and finding a good used rear end can be tough. The large brake bands are being reproduced, and parts for the Wisconsin AEH engine and Warner T96 transmission can be found. Many older Gibson's came with an early Chevy transmission, I think from the 30's.

Got the 420 and did some clearing. This was a combo of the ice we got last Friday and 3" snow we got last night and today. The ice had her working a little but most came up.20180115_160848.jpg
