Caseguy & I went to the Saegertown PA Show on Saturday. I went "woefully unprepared" for Flea Marketing, but I didn't find much anyways. The only stuff I bought was a $2 steel gas can & a $3 big bag of play balls for my 2 yr old.

On the way to the show, We saw these 2 items sitting by the road with a for sale sign on them.
-A 70's? Homelite Generator with a 5Hp Briggs, unknown Wattage.
Had Fresh oil in the bottom& old turpentine in the top.

Needed a good cleaning of the gas tank, a heavy dose of Acetone Soak in the carb overnight.

-and a hand powered Log Splitter.

Added oil & away we went... So easy, even a skinny 14 yr old can do it. ;)
It's a two stage, one for faster or easier stuff & a slower, higher pressure for actual splitting.

The grass had gotten a little tall around them, so I felt confident with a little negotiation.

I bought them both for $20.

Well done!! Seems like a $100 & more time hunting and you could've come home with something to ride! That lil generator is soo cool.

For $20, I hope you feel guilty enough, and go back and cut down that patch of grass!!

Will, I never thought of it that way. Now if he'd just been selling a GT with a deck, maybe it would've crossed my mind.

I would say that was great for $20! I wouldn't want to split a winter's worth of firewood like that! I have been looking for one of those small generators.

I'm guessing the excitement of the deal, got the best of you. Totally understandable. Either way, heck of a deal!!

If Alan woefully unprepared for the flea market, I was well beyond that! Thankfully I didn't spot anything that I regret not having the money for! I spent all of my "fun" money on a new tank of Argon / Helium gas for my MIG. (which was the errand we had to run that Alan mentioned in the other thread). It was a good day none the less! A bad day at a tractor show is MUCH better than a good day at work!
