YES, this engine will work. I forget which type oil pan the 716 uses, but you can put your oil pan on the 716's engine if different. If the 716's oil pan is an "A" type, you can put your std oil pan from your 14hp engine onto it. It's when you go from a std oil pan block to a "A" style pan that won't work in most cases. But I'm thinking the 716 has the same oil pan as the MF14/16.

From my quick research, looks like the oil pan is the same, the electric clutch, fuel pump, carb etc can all be moved between the two. Looks like I may be back in the dirt sooner than later! Going to see it tonight probably. I'll report back later if I buy it. I'll make sure to run it and give it a go, check the oil colour etc before any snap decision!

You can part out the rest of the Allis to pay for the cost of the whole tractor, great deal.

Update: Bought a .010 conn rod off ebay anyway. No sense in this mostly working engine sitting in my shed. Plan is to use the K341 in the MF14, rebuild the K321 and put it on the AC716H and see how she runs, then possibly sell the AC716H.

Will update tonight again post purchase. Hope this isn't post whoring, just updating my thought process so people can comment on my tractor ADD!

:)

I did find another good line... This guy has 2 Kohler KT17S engines. He's about 10 mins from here, so I think i'll go check it out just for kicks. Anyone know if those will be bolt on and go? :)

It's fine to part it out once the claim is done and you settle, but yeah wait a bit.

New connecting rod from ebay came in today. Got the engine back together and mounted....

So far so good! I went for a spin around the yard. I varied the throttle from idle to full out, boogied around in both high and low gear with no issues. I think I drove for about 10 mins. Pulled back into the garage and checked the oil, clean as a whistle, no metal, no residue. We may have a winner. I'm going to do a bit more light activity with her tomorrow and see if we're good to go.

thanks everyone for the encouragement and tips to date. I've learned a ton from everyone on here, but the camaraderie is what got me through this hassle!

cheers all!

Don't forget to re torque the head after running for a while. Best of luck on the rebuild!
