Guys, this is the second deal I walked into without much effort or pain, within as many weeks and came home again with an item that was not exactly on the top of my wish list. Did I want a cab for my GT? YES! Did I snag a Bolens type? NOT ! As fate would have it., I picked up a Sears/Craftsman model #922 24171 from a guy who was more than eager to be rid of his fathers possessions. He stated the next caller offered him twice as much to dump my deal but he said "he's not that kind o' guy and he wanted it gone sooner rather than later". Who am I to argue?? So once again I face the 'Do I try to make it work for me or pass it along to someone who really wants/needs it bad...?'

(probably should have gotten the 2nd callers #) :(

thought I was gonna keep blabbin' and show no pics, yeh?

Looks like a nicely built cab to me and it would probably fit quite a few different tractors with a little elbow grease. I think you did good snagging it up.

Unless I miss my guess, that cab will fit any of the Electrolux built Craftsman, husqvarna, etc units.

Fantastic that you were able to make the deal, it's a darned nice cab.

To bad you don't live closer. Like Alan said I would think it will fit other tractors beside's a Craftsman.

If I were in your shoes, I'd put it on several surrounding community's CL's and post that you will trade it for a Bolens snow cab. Costs you nothing that way and may just get you what you were looking for to start with.

As for my tractor, I built one for my snowplowing tractor last fall and have only used my GT5000 twice since to push snow further off the drive. A cab is on my list, but I think I will try to find one for Ryan first. He wants to use his thrower this winter and I know how much fun it is without a cab...

One other option I just thought of. If you have a decal place around, maybe they could make a Bolens Logo just a little bigger than the one on it. It wouldn't be OEM, but it might do until you got the real thing.

If that cab only had air conditioning I would jump on it. My little bride doesn't like riding around in the heat and I could really make some points with something like that. :bounce:

MH, I feel more inclined towards that first suggestion, and I won't hold it again'ya for not provoking me to look closer at the many older, sweet looking Sears models that have been sprouting up available at fair cost around me lately..

I agree, I would post it on craigslist and try to trade it for a bolens cab. Or, you could sell and use the money to buy that sears you want to buy for your cab...
