Oh, man, really. You know how much I hate hi-tech stuff like that.

Then put out that time lapse camera tonight. Elf will likely start prancing about during the night. :smilewink:

Geez you guys talk a lot! I spent the last 45 minutes catching up on reading the rest of the thread LOL! J/K of course. All I wanted to do was say Congrats Will, that sure is a beasty little tractor you've acquired! There sure are a lot of levers on there...kind of intimidating! As far as the hydraulic cylinder on the rear...was the PO not able to find a bigger one? Thanks for the great cliff hanger Will!

Glad you got it running, Will. Just don't try any high speed turns, might need a seat belt for that. Free baths are over, the artesian well has stopped giving water.

Your camera should have all the software needed to import the video to your computer, you can upload it at a number of places nd its easy.

I checked the manual, and it says that 4th (hurry up xmas is coming) gear, propels it up to 7.8 mph.

That's enough to get the pointy ears flapping in the wind. :laughingteeth:

Will, with that changed engine, your speed might be a little different. Was the original high torque/ lower rpm unit than the Briggs?

You might actually get up to 8 mph... Better tape those ears on better.

Update.

Today, ELF's journey, came to fruition.
I moved him back to Massey Hall.
As we drove up the ramp, suddenly we where greeted by this.

P1010105.JPG

I stepped off ELF, to capture the moment. I'm sure I heard something coming
from within Massey Hall. It sounded like the others clicked their rear wheels
together, and then I think I heard, "Willkommen in Kanada. Wir haben auf deine Ankunft."

P1010106.JPG

Stechpalmen-Kuh, was ist denn hier los?

Shortly after that, we backed away, and ELF made an abrupt 180, and backed up into
Massey Hall, and parked in the spot he'd picked out.

Well, that's how the voyage ends. It's been a challenge, and I'm happy with the outcome.
I'd like to thank all of you that got involved in this thread. It's been a lot of fun, and many
times, your comments, ideas, made me realize that I'm not the only crazy one out there. :laughingteeth:
This is wahrscheinlich the last post of sustance I'll make about the Elf on this thread.

I guess, that sometime soon, I'll start a thread about "Exploring an ELF". Afterall, it's metric.

Thanks for the interest, and the laughs.

Will, it's been a blast getting the Elf home to Canada. This has to be one of the best things to happen on GTTalk. I will definitely be looking for more on this tractor. Enjoy him!

How awesome is that!? Thanks for sharing the journey, it's been kinda magical. Now he's found his way to his rightful place, I sense plenty of moments of wonder ahead. All the Best!

(The Hall kinda looks like a miniature elven workshop  )

Thank you for sharing your fun with us Will.
Part of the magic of this has been the owner, dont forget it.
It's been a real hoot "helping" the Elf along on it's journey.
Looking forward to the next thread.
