Thanks guys for all the congrats. It's been a lot of fun getting it here, and I'm really
looking forward to getting to work on it this winter.

A couple things about it as it now sits.

It is supposed to be all yellow.
The B&S 11hp was put in there 20 years ago. Originally they came with a MAG engine. MAG doesn't
exist anymore, and parts are getting near impossible to find. I've seen the odd part on ebay germany, and
they are crazy expensive. I'm kinda glad it was repowered.
When the repower was done, they kinda cobbled that together. In the pics, you can see where the grill was raised
about 3 inches, to allow the hood to clear the gas tank.
Something I'll have to deal with. Maybe a different tank, relocated, or ???
The main thing is, that the rest of it is all there, and works (from the videos I got back in April)
Later today I plan on fireing it up.
Also, that hydraulic lift thing on the back has to go. PO add on.

So if you take that gas tank off, the hood can go back where is belongs? Guess it will take a couple days of looking things over to figure things like that out. If you get a chance before long, can you get a pic with the hood open? Depending what battery you use, you might get a fuel tank in that area.
Will, I'm very happy that the wait is over. That is one cool tractor and I am sure you will enjoy it very much. I can't think of a better home for it than Massey Hall!

Will, Congratulations on getting the Elf and your self home safely. I'm surprised not to see Doug's arm still in the crate after he touched it first. Man ,that thing is very well built, I can't wait to see more detailed photos it.

We have heard from Doug, haven't we? Will didn't accidently rip his head off? You know, with that board he'd been being so careful with? :spanka: :shoot3: :rofl2: :rofl2:

I still got both arms.
When I grabbed the steering wheel on the ELF I thought to myself,

"Am I the first one in North America to touch an ELF"

One thing is for sure, I won't be the first to drive it and I'll be very lucky if I ever do.

Haven't you heard the first person to touch a crated Elf has a curse placed on him??

You better get your affairs in order, this may get ugly before its over, but it was nice to take the curse from Will, so at least maybe he can find a cure for it.

LOL

Yep, on one point your right. I was the first to drive it, today. On the other point.
I don't see why you wouldn't be driving it at some point. Just because you stole my thunder, I'd never
hold that against you. :smilewink: After many hours of training, and enduring my constant yacking, bickering and warnings, I think
you'll enjoy the ride. For sure, you'll have to stay in first gear, eyes forward, both hands on the wheel, pay attention
to the possible dangers (pot holes, passing bikinis), and no hot dogging. Of course, Elf will need a bath, and grease
after your 1/4 mile. :smilewink:

Bit of an update.

Just so I could get my head wrapped around this project, I took an hour this afternoon, and
fired it up. Motor runs great. The whole drive train functions good. In fact, 4th gear is really fast. Scary fast.
I'll look it up in the manual later, as to what the spec'd speed should be, but this I can say. It's about 25%
faster than say a MF16 in high/full. I might even wear a "HELM".
Turning radius, is very tight. Almost as tight as a MF8.
PTO works. Brakes lock up the rears on concrete.
The ride itself is neat. You sit high. Doug, with your height, for sure you're going to have to wear a Helm.
Don't want you hitting your knoggin.

The speed & turning radius sounds much like the Bush Hog D series. They'll go so fast you can hardly stay in the seat if ground is the least bit rough. We expect video SOON!
