Elf will only be visiting Halifax. It will be unloaded in Montreal, and
trucked to a Toronto warehouse.

I recognize that warehouse. It is the closing scene from the movie "Raiders of the lost ark".

I don't know the time, Brian, but Aug 3rd is the scheduled date. But that seems late, considering it's
progress. We'll have to see tomorrow, or Wed.

Is the port in Haifax, on the north, or south shore?

There are 2 container ports in Halifax harbour. Both are on the Halifax side of the harbour. One is about 1/4 mile from where I work. It's right in the south end of the city in the neighborhood of Point Pleasent Part and the 7 figure houses. The other port is in Fairview Cove further up the harbour. I'll see if I can find out where it's going to be. I'm not in the city on the 3rd otherwise I'd see if I could get pictures.

Will, according to the Maersk schedule for the ship it docks at 08:00 and leaves at 16:00. There may be a webcam for the harbour where you could watch the ship come in!

Gonna have to put him to work pretty quick, Don't want him thinking he got a 'free ride'.

I am curious. After the ship gets to port how long will it be before you can take little Elfie home?

I think he said he is picking it up on the 10th? Could be wrong. It will take a while to unload the ship and get inspected by customs.

Thanks Brian, I'll look into that webcam.
Too bad, you're not around that day, to take Elf for a walk, or take a picture.

Oh, I think I'll just let the Elf do what they do best. He'll be delivering Christmas presents, once a year.

Ok, heres a link to a webcam of the entrance to the harbour. You can see the red and white cranes of the container terminal on the right edge of the picture. Any vessel sailing in to the container pier would have to pass between the small Island (Georges Island) and those cranes. Some other cams may provide a view as well

My understanding, is I can get Elf on the 9th. All customs, etc issues are looked after by the frieght forwarding company.
