I was surprised that the BIN price was that low.

That leaves me with only one item on my "MUST HAVE" list of attachments...the Haban Flail-Mo.

That's not to say that I won't pick up any other 'goodies' that might show up though :D :D :D

I'll be using it with this :D :D :D

I actually have a question about that! Is this the only type of "bagger" or "vacuum" attachment that will fit these old Bolens'? I've been looking to get either a bagger or a lawn sweeper that will work with my 850 with a 38" deck. Did these tractors not have a proper deck and/or blade design though to use a more modern bagger like you see on many new tractors? Do you have to have a tow-behind vacuum like you have pictured in order to have it work properly? Where can Ifind a bagger that will fit my tractor? Can I use any kind of "generic" bagger or a bagger from another tractor and have it work? Am I better off trying to get a lawn sweeper instead and how do they work with grass clippings? Most people I have talked to about them only use sweepers for leaves and have no idea if they work well on grass clippings. Hmmmm.... HELP, PLEASE! lol.

These EZ vac systems were used on almost all makes of garden tractors in the 60's and 70's. As far as I know the common bagging systems you see on today's mowers didn't come around until the late 70's/early 80's.
These were the best things available at that time, along with the pull behind lawn sweepers. You will not be able to adapt a newer bagging system on these Bolens because the deck and blades were not designed for this.(Not enough air flow/ suction is created to push the grass up a chute)

If you want to collect the clippings I would just get one of those pull behind sweepers.
  • MailmAn said thank you

It was the next to last item on my "must have attachments" list for the Bolens tube frames.

The only one left now is the Haban Flail-Mo.

Going to @ a 750 mile round trip to pick it up.

Drive safe Old B. That's a ways to go. With that much distance to cover you're bound to see something else that will tempt you. Enjoy the trip!
