I also found this lying on top of the mower deck, what is it and where did it go? I found it before I started to disassemble the tractor. It's about 3" long, 2" wide, and has a 1" 90` bend on one end.

That's the lift bracket for the motor, should be bolted to the head over the shroud.

Kenny, it's the same as the 14HP.

Daniel, No, not still on vacation. It's just too hot to work on stuff that's not any fun. :laughingteeth:

Chuck, Thanks, thats why I couldn't find a lifting eye when I lifted the engine out of the frame, :confuse:

Brian, I got my mounts from McMaster-Carr (I think), much cheaper.

Found them again:

Doing a fine job that I can see! It says light duty, but just match mounting hole dimensions and ID.

Not leaving it red, Can't use the engine from the WH. I thought the block's were the same, but they are different were the pan bolts on. I will post some pictures in a little while. I think I have a JD block that should be the same, but will have to change out the crank.

I had meant to post that but forgot to. The block's bottom has angled notches just inside the oil pan flanges that the square Ford style pan won't cover up. Leaves a big gaping hole on both sides above the oil pan. I don't know why they put these notches in there, as the MF1650 Kohlers have the same type flanges, but do not have the notches, making them able to use either style oil pan.

Yes they are, Russ!

Brian, sorry to hear the WH block won't work, but is good info for folks to know in their quest for parts.

Kenny, I started a thread on the differences in the K321 blocks. I hope get into a few more engine to find out the differences. It looks like the JD 214 block will work, and I have one that's complete, but not heard it run.

Russ, I am going to be making a pair for mine, if they look and work well, I'm sure it won't be much trouble to build 2 sets.
