Hello, I would like to get some of you PK/Eco experts opinion on this CL find. The listing is VERY vague and I'm going to call to find out the status of the engine/functionality... Just looking for a little heads up on what to check for. Thanks!

Seems kinda expensive, but - not a 'horrible'. They're kinda cool too. Approach with $500 in hand and see if he bites? Running, driving with a couple implements would be nice :-)

I am no PK expert by any means, but it does seem a bit pricey to me too. I think offering him $500 for it is a good idea.

First, that is not a 1960 tractor. From what I see it is a '69-'72 model.

It's not the original engine, not only is it blue but on the hood it says 14hp but in the ad it says its a 12 horse.

The steering wheel is not correct.

The top of the steering column looks to be rotted.

There is a brace on the bottom of the steering column and the collar around the column on the steering box looks broken off. Replacing that box gets pretty pricey, might want to consider that.

The garbage bag behind the engine throws a huge red flag, there could be a big problem its hiding.

The body looks to be in decent shape but the pic was taken just over four years ago. Granted the date on the camera is correct.

If it runs, I would agree with the others that $500 is a good starting point. If it has any attachments that might change things.

I agree with Ryan's comments, if you are looking for a PK I would consider this an ambitious project or a parts donor tractor and I'm thinking unless there are some implements/deck to go with it that about 1/2 of his asking price is a bit more in line. Good luck and let us know how you make out [love to know what is under the trash bag...]

I don't think I would call it a parts tractor just yet. All it really needs are the steering components. And, then maybe what ever is under the garbage bag. :laughingteeth:

There is a steering box and column on eBay right now. It has no reserve, I am sure there will be a few people fighting for this but if you can get it cheap enough you can swap it with the one on that PK. Then for a steering wheel, and ross wheel will fit it.

Yeah, the tranny itself on these things will fetch $150 not even rebuilt. I know this in detail now after shopping for one. So it is worth something. Make em an offer.

The pic is dated 2008,it could be in alot worse shape now. I would show up with $350 in hand but be willing to go to $500. $600 dosent leve alot of room for having to buy parts.
