Well I went to see today, he's a private tractor wrecker guy, very knowledgeable on GT's, good guy to get to know.

He has about 35-40 old garden tractors some complete some in pieces.

Allis Chambers 2 tractors

Bolens- QT or HT 16,20,23, one with a cab, looks not bad.

Cub Cadet- 6 or more all more or less complete, white and yellow ones.

Ford- at least 8- LGT 125, 145, 155, all more or less complete, Poncho, got to go check this out.

Massey- 1- 1450, 2- 1650, one with cab rough. 1 has rear PTO no 3 points

JD- 112, 300, 316, 318, 400, 420, 425, +?. 318 and most of 400s in pieces, 10+ tractors. 300s came with rear pto and 3 points.

Tried to buy 1 Massey 1450 wouldn't sell without 1650 package deal.
Tried to Buy 1 JD300 again package deal 3- 300s +1- 316.
These one's for me looked like the best ones, not to familiar with the cubs or fords.
So I ended up with 4 JDs $275. a piece. To many people after the Massey,s wouldn't sell them cheap, I can't blame him for that.

Got rained on while I was there, man did it come down so no pic's or a good list of what he has.

Anyway it's time to share, search KIJIJI Toronto, home and garden for "40 scrap garden tractors, cast iron series" and you will find him.
Or if you PM me I'll give you his name, address and phone #. He's NW of Hamilton.

Well, you know you're in Hamilton when every street is a ONE WAY and you end up going around in circles all the time.

I just talked to this guy on the phone. He has no Colt or Case tractors. I asked him about engines that might be separate from tractors and he starts in about how he sold a guy just a flywheel off a Kohler for $100.00 and how he had to pay almost $400.00 for a starter on a Deere he was selling. Right then and there, I knew I was just wasting my time and I said good-bye.

I thought that maybe he was wanting to clear all this old junk off his property and out of his buildings but somehow he thinks that the fairys came by and gold-plated this stuff one night.

Yeah, those are the kinds of "deals" I seem to run into around here all the time. You have to wonder where they get their prices from .
Not long ago I found a Case 446,engine knocks, and the guy wanted $1400.00 dollars. Why ? Because he tells me that is what it is going to cost him to replace it.I just walked away.

My problem is that I have been getting a few really good deals this last year......and anything now that costs a more normal price, I tend to turn it down......I can wait for the deals, they are out there.........Doug said he got some JDs from this guy for $275 each.....which is probably a pretty good deal......Chances are, the seller is a different guy on the phone than in person.

Before jumping to that conclusion, I'll wait to see photos of what Doug got for his $275.00. The seller told me that he was in the landscaping business and he ran his stuff until it needed replacement and just parked the units so he could cannabalize them. That indicates that some of those tractors won't be complete.

I'm in the same position you are. I'm not lusting after anything at the moment. Most of my projects are complete. Any parts they do need will be items I will buy new, not used, because they are wear parts. However, I am short one K-321 engine. If he happened to have one or two around, I might have made the trek if his prices were more reasonable. If he can get $150.00 for his engines from someone else, then good for him. It just won't be me. That doesn't make him a bad guy. It just makes me a cheap guy who won't pay his asking price.

Well tomorrow is the day I bring home what I bought, was out there today to make sure he had everything ready and grabbed the loose stuff, will post pictures.
Question: Would JD300s be equivalent or comparable to Massey MF1650s?
