Just picked up a reasonable model 48 deck and would like to put it on my 314 that currently has a H041H deck installed. I've read a few threads on the WFM forum that the draft arms will need to be swapped. Is this always the case? Also is there anything else that needs a replacement for the different sized deck such as a belt or lift arms. Thanks much.

The draft arms do need to be swapped. The arms for the 48 deck are shorter than the arms for the 48. I would expect you to find an entire mule drive with arms for the 48 rather easily. What are you doing with the 41?

If I can get the 48 to run nice and smooth, it's going up for sale if anyone's interested. Maybe you???

I think you're right. Seems as though I'm always dabbling in decks some how. I'll probably end up not having anything to mow my lawn with in the end. There's always the pusher I guess.

I was thinking about this after I went to bed and remembered I have a mule drive with arms for a 48" deck that I don't want/need. Let me dig it out and snap a few pics. If you get rid of the 41 I might be interested in it.

I do have the correct arms from the rear of the deck but surely the wrong ones from the mule. I sense some horse trading about to happen. B)

The correct ones actually came attached to my 48 so I do have both versions.

Might even be able to remove the arm from the mule drive and ship it to you to save a few bucks.

Don't really have a good way to ship a 41 deck though. You ever get up to MN? PM me and we can discuss some options if any.

You are not too far from the Cities, right? I am just south of Sioux City, IA and can make a trip away for a few days with the Mrs and pick it up. Watch for a message.
