Are there any other brand garden tractors that used the same Dana Model GT-20 Axle that came with the Optional limited-slip differential?

Or does anyone know of anything that came with the Dana Model 18 Axles that had the Optional limited-slip differential? I think the internals are the same.

My GT-17 tends to spin 1 rear wheel even with an extra 850+ lbs of weight on it. I'm thinking about seeing if I can hook up independent rear braking but a limited slip diff would be nice.

Might be the same as a Dana 27

Not sure of the model no. but the early JD 300 series uses the Dana rearend. I'm not aware of anyone but Ariens and JD that used them. You might want to run this past some of our site sponsors who recycle tractors. They may know what will work.

4 years later, someone did it

http://www.mytractor...-lock-gt20.html

I pit a Spartan Locker for a Dana 30 in my GT-18 (931033) mne had the 27 spine axles so it was a direct for the bevel and side gears. Makes an amazing difference I plan on doing a write up on it buy the truth is all you really have to do is follow the instructions and the service manual. The locker can be swapped into the differential case with out removing it from the housing so there are no ring/pinion setup issues. I suspect it would work in tractors with the course spline axle shafts if you swapped the shafts
