Was the 16-17 vac seems low ,was that at idle and did you raise the rpm to see it there was any changes ? Did the the center dc voltage change too ?

It was a little over half throttle. I did not check anything else. Man, how I wish I knew what I were doing! Lol!

Don't worry Ryan you'll learn with every job you do and it will help you withthe next . Maybe on this one you should get all the charging info you can from the engine manufactor and see if they have troubleshooting flow charts or explaine how/what the voltages should be . Most of what people are telling yopu are things they have picked up from reading those and then checking there equipment . Hang in there , Al
