I have finally been able to a Continental AU8 for my 5756 DB. It came with an AU7, but the AU8 will have to work. Now I need to get it running and find a Continental fuel tank, and it will be almost original.

The AU8 does spin over and has some compression. Don't know about spark.

Good to hear you got the engine that you need. What's the difference between the 7 & 8?

AU7 is 1.6 hp and AU8 is 2 1/4 hp. There are some other changes, but that is most of it. I still needs to find a Continental fuel tank, and it will be almost perfect.
