You could use a small off the shelf cylinder and valve and fabricate some brackets like I did - http://www.mytractor...nder-valve.html .  You could use a power steering pump or a 12 volt hydro unit to run the cylinder the same as snow plows and dump trailers use - http://www.princessa...nit/A-p8478141e - just suggestions if you cannot find an original set up.

I read through your thread on mytractor and now I have a good idea of how to build my own system.  I  also liked your 2 stage snowblower. Do you have a detailed thread on that somewhere?

Thanks, Jim

Wow,impressive stuff!
I think a 2 stage blower may have been manufactured by berco at one point for tubeframes.

Thanks, I read through that thread as well now. I had assumed you adapted an existing two stage blower, I had no idea you built it from scratch. There is a Bolens tube frame with a two stage blower on it for sale on Kijiji  Barrie right now. The project clearly is not done (no chute controls and everything appears to be set up to turn the wrong way). The ad says it has an 8hp Briggs, but the pictures show a Wisconsin. I think the tractor might be an 800, but I am no expert and it is painted up like a Cub Cadet, so that makes it that much harder. I sent the guy an e-mail asking if he would sell the blower separately, thinking I could finish what he started, but he did not reply.

Jim

That is a 900 and it has been listed so often on kijiji in the last year. I believe he had the tractor only listed this summer for 400$

He is asking $600 for the tractor and blower. I would probably give him $150 for the blower, as long as the driveshaft comes with it and the bearings etc in the blower are in good shape. It has a good heavy gearbox in it for the augers and I don't think it would be all that hard to reverse the shaft rotation and the chute rotation could be done the same as 29 Chev did. I am going to be working in Collingwood in another week or so, so picking it up would not be an issue either. Too bad he didn't get back to me.
