It would be pretty cool to have tracks. The only thing I could see is I would think that setup pictured would be taking a lot of abuse if the front wheel in that track isn't anchored.

I don't see any problem between hydro and geared, rear end is a rear end or it's a transaxle, I don't know why it wouldn't work. BUT if I where going to throw money at that project i's incorporated your fron wheels into the track and use left and right brakes for steering, know what I mean, just like a bobcat. I think ZTRs use twin hydros and levers to start/stop open/close stop/start

You'll also be disappointed with the traction,a rubber tired machine up against a track machine if they are both the same weight the rubber tired machine will pull the most 99% of the time.
