Hello to all, just found this forum and want to start by saying i cannot believe the wealth of knowledge contained among the members ( been lurking for a while) in regards to machines it appears most folks anywhere else know nothing about. I am the proud owner ( 2 years now) of a Allis Chalmers 816 GT with a tiller attachment(Tills our 1/8 Acre veggie garden well). it tills fantastic and is a joy to run and see the machine still out working instead of rusting behind a barn somewhere or scrapped. From what i have seen thus far there is not much info in regards to this particular model. anyone have any suggestions for another resource ( probably a rookie question)or reference on this model and hopefully a location to possibly find additional implements? I would really like to see the 816 used for other chores around our house and in the Garden. I attached a (poor) picture of the machine(on the right in the pic) for reference, i will take a better one here later. Thank you in advance for your time.

:welcometogttalk: From what I can see, that looks like a very solid old Simplicity! :dancingbanana: I am not one of the resident Simplicity guru's, but I'm sure one will jump in, and help you out before long. Once again, its great to have you aboard, and I think you'll like it here, lots of friendly, helpful people.

Welcome to GTTalk! I have seen a couple of Allis tractors that size over the years up here but can't remember the model numbers. A few more pics would be nice as it looks like a nice setup with the tiller.

I've had some Allis tractors, and still have a 620 & 720. Never seen an 816 though. I just traded off an Allis 716 to a friend, who fell in love with it! The 816 is likely just the newer version of the 716, so it should be a real good machine!

Welcome to GTtalk!

Your Allis-Chalmers 816 GT is the equivalent to the Simplicity 6116 garden tractor. All attachments and accessories for the two are interchangeable. You can find a list of these in the Operator's Manual on page 8. They are also included in the Parts Manual. Links to download both manuals are below.

Here's a link to a Simplicity Attachments and Accessories Parts Manual that also shows some of the items that will fit your tractor:

Your A/C looks a lot like my Simplicity. Would you post some pics of yout hitch for the tiller please, I'm trying to hook one up to mine and have not had much luck figuring out what the hitch is supposed to look like.
