I've been looking for a Massey 12 hydro for the past year. I've found some real wreaks that people have sold. I look weekly on craigs, and ebay as many people hear probably do. I saw this one on ebay today. http://www.ebay.com/...=item4ab8ccecdf

It looks like it's been restored but I'm not sure. Some parts of the tractor look restored some look like it's been sitting in a garage it's whole like. Clean but not shiny. Was wondering if I could get some opinions on this.
Thanks for your help.

Heck with no reserve price this may go cheap. I would bid on it.

"Looks" like a good clean machine.
Are you close enough to arrange a test drive?

It looks like some of it has been repainted. The grey covers and some of the other tin but then a lot of it looks original. There are lots of beat ones out there as you have found out and this one looks to me like it is worth more than the average one. Good luck!!

I'm not a Massey expert, but that looks like a very clean original GT! I think if I were you, I'd enter in a bid that as high as you're willing to go, and let the automatic bidder do the rest. Good Luck, and I hope you get it! Its a beauty.

Thanks for the help fellas. I'm four hours away so I think a test drive would be difficult. It does look like the grey has been repainted but yet all the red looks original. Typical paint fading. The seller isn't taking questions so I can't ask how it runs or if it's the original motor.

It has the place to ask a question & he doesn't state he won't answer question in the listing. Did he tell you he won't answer questions? Good looking unit I think, and looks complete. It's a good tractor to bid on in my opinion.

I went to "ask a question" at the bottom of the page and then clicked "other" and it says seller is unable to respond to questions.

Well he says it runs, moves forward, backward and mows.
But doesn't say much else???

As to what it's worth??? if it was really close to me I'd go look and try it, that might be a good one.

I did the same & it gave me the page to type my question. Let me see if I can ask about the engine.

I got the question through, now to wait.

Could you get the engine serial number off the tag. It should be on the flywheel cover, on the side toward the front of tractor. May also be stamped on the top of this cover, up next to the head.

It looks like it has the original seat, the vinyl covering looks like original.
The rims are single colour and if they are original that makes this tractor a 1970 to 1972 model.

He answered & added it to the listing too, but he gave the tractor serial #.

SERIAL # 1446517709
MODEL# MF12
Hope this helps
Thanks for asking

Nice looking MF for sure. Its possible that the seller is not "upstate" where the GT is and possibly he really doesn't know any more about it. Just my 3.6 quid. :orangecool:
