when im in the garage and i need to look at a pdf or listen to music other then the local stuff i have to run inside the house and either look at the pdf on my desktop or take the the cd player out with a stack of cd's. well i think i kinda came up with a solution to the problem or at least a start to the end.

That is neat, no more printing out a diagram to carry to the tractor just to realize what you need got cut off. Of course you can keep watching GTT while you work. Thanks for sharing.

we dont have a printer for this laptop since it runs Ubuntu. i would go into the house and look at the pdf and come back out. that got old real quick so i had to think of something. right now in using the stand i use in the house but im rethinking this and im working on ver. 2.0 since this is ver 1.0.

That is a handy thing to have. I don't even have a laptop so I'm using paper. Another thing that would work is one of those swivelling monitor mounts for the old style CRT monitors. We use a lot of them in work where there are PC's controlling instruments with the monitor mounted remotely. There are probably a lot of them surplus now as the flat panel monitors use a different setup.

dogsoldier, I like your holder. I have a laptop in the shop that is connected to the internet wifi but since the shop is a metal building I have to keep the laptop by the door. It does make it a lot easier to view the document right there at the piece of equipment plus I like to be able to hunt for other documentation or run searches to see if some one else has had the problem. I'd be interested in seeing ver 2.
