Alan, I sure am sorry to hear about the golf cart being stolen. After reading thru the thread I don't think that I can add any more ideas, as the other folks seem to have already covered all the bases. Having been to your community several times and seeing such a close fellowship I know somebody will step forward and help with transportation for your Mom at the show. Hope everything goes well.

If you have GT parts laying around, now might be a good time to build her a special cart from left over parts.

They have a newer GT with pretty easy access to get on and off, but the Golf Cart was lower and a two seater. Made for more together time for my parents or Mom with the Grandkids.

Alan sorry to hear of your moms loss of the golf cart. I have been robbed so I know how it feels. I remind my kids that stealing is never a choice and something I will not tolerate. Just shows you how little someones character is......one's reputation - good or bad - is one thing we have control of - and it is something we can choose which reputation we want to be known for..... hope it is recovered!

Alan, I hope you get a new solution to your mom's needs. It is nice if you can get something to get mom and dad together. I hope it turns up soon.

Alan, do you know anyone at a local golf course? Just wondering if they would be civic minded & give your Mom a loaner for a short term?

Sad what some do with their energy and other peoples property. No word from neighbors or local talkative hangabouts?? I like that you're able to seem positive throughout adverse times...All the best.

Alan, I must say you can take something terrible like this and put a twist of humor to it. That says a lot for you, if that had happen to me or my family I would be so mad I couldn't see straight. If you do find the culprit why not use him/she to train the dog how to attack? I have a Shepard like that but she is just about pure black and has the eyes of a wolf so people tend to keep their distance. I think I will have a little talk with her as well. :)

I hope you work things out for you mom. What about a cart towed behind a GT?

Alan, I'm terribly sorry that this happened. Years ago, I dealt with a golf cart theft, we actually identified the culprits, but never could seem to get our day in court. Delayed, deferred, for all I know eventually dismissed. Couple of teenagers out for a joy ride.

Do you have a trailer that could be pulled behind a GT? Fix that up a bit, it might be a poor substitute for the golf cart.

Hoping you get it back in one piece. I know some of you guys have built some remarkable two-seater mobile "Gt conversions" but a golf cart is virtually essential for somebody with surgeries to get around on a farm. Very low sill plate, no lifting of the leg over a tranny-hump or gas tank etc. just step in and go. If the country justice works out the $#@^*&@# that took it will likely need some teeth after the "wonkie steering" puts em in a ditch. Ours has that same issue at speed and for some reason everybody that gets on it just has to mash the gas to see how fast will it go? I always warn first-timers to watch out for going too fast...wonder if it is a toe-in issue (nothing loose in our front end) or are all these things kinda wonkie at speed?

Thanks for the outpouring guys. I look at stuff like this as a "Kidney Stone of Life". Painful, but it will eventually pass.

I put ads on CL for the surrounding communities and got all excited this PM when I got an email...
Opened it & it was a fishing scam . Grrrr...
