Ok, I searched for about 2 hours trying to figure out what model my briggs 8 hp in my G9 is. If anyone can help, I would very much appreciate it.

Do you have any numbers or a year of anything? or a picture of the engine?

I'll see if I can find any info.

it should be staped into the cooling shroud near the head of the engine it should be 19407 - on and on - and on
model type code

I tried looking, didn't see anything...I will try again if no one knows what model it is.

My G9 has the ID sticker right on the front of the shroud. The model # is 190417.

Oh, I see that is what I need, thanks guys. My carb is messed up and I wanted to start with the stock settings. Now, I know how to get parts and all. Thanks guys.

The engines on the 1976-1977 Bolens G9 were B&S model 190417, as others have said.

The B&S TYPE # 0902-01 may need to be specified to get certain parts for this particular engine.
