So due to a recent happening with my JD mower I am thinking about using the PK 1614 with the 60" deck for the season untill I can repair or replace the mower. Do any of you guys use your PK to mow with and what kind of finish do you get. I have 1 1/2 acre house lot that i want to use it for. Feed back needed on topic. Thanks

My '75 used to mow my house all the time. Then I got my WH and it has been easier to use that to mow all the time and just leave the deck off the '75 for other use. I have used it to mow my house and my neighbor's who has three acres. I have a 48" deck. Since I don't know how big your engine is but if its a 14 hp it might be underpowered if the grass is long or you go to fast.

As long as the blades are sharp, and you use a good mowing speed they cut very well! Here is a pic after I mowed the neighbors lawn a few weeks ago.

Sorry, never mounted my mower, not enough semi flat yard to warrant a 60" deck...... but I know the previous owner mowed with it for many years.

I have the old style deck on my 1612 with a 48" it doesn't have the side panels (it looks different then the one Ryan posted ) It works OK and I did the same thing as you want to do when the engine went on my JD 318 , that was my back-up that summer . Just took longer but in the end the grass got cut , Al
