That oil filter looks like one off of a Robin engine we use for golf cars.

I looked back through the thread & can't find a reference to any filter?  What filter are you speaking of...out of a Hog?

Have twp projects I am doing to the HD-12 this weekend. It has always leaked from around the transaxle shifter shaft. I am replacing both these seals today. This should stop the leaking.

Titus that is the shaft that the shift arms attaches too......mighty touchy shifter I might add......with the new seals in (did not have the larger thinner one).....looks like it is not leaking.....will see if it holds! Oil leak is actually the hydraulic fluid which in this case is transmission fluid.

Used the HD-12 to pull the trailer around today. It had no issues pulling up the two inclines in my yard.

Just an update. I have changed rims and tires on it. It now has the HW-12 tire set up. Rear tires are the correct Goodyear terra ags 26x12x12 with 20x8x10 tires on the front.

Looks good Scott, I think George's still has the original G/Y Floatation tires on it if you want to see them. The G/Y Ag's are really tough looking on that HD-12!! Very Nice.

I was fortunate enough to ride George's, those wheels have phenomenal bite and I don't think you will be disappointed with them.

I really like the look with those tires Scott!  Now I'm torn which way to go with my HD-12 diesel.  I have a set of 26x12x12 on 6 lug rims I could put on it.  I also figure the smaller diameter rears would be easier on the hydro/diff plowing, as it would lower the ratio compared to the taller 15" rims with ags, which are a bit over 29" tall..  Gotta think on this now!

I think it looks great with the 12" ag tire setup, although I am a bit biased LOL.

My key switch on the HD-12 was not returning when turned to engage the starter. Looking in my parts last night, I found a switch I had picked up on my trip out to Kansas. It just happened to be the same switch BH part number S-1809. The part number was barely legible but its the right one! So I know one project in store for me today.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1391953006.297110.jpg

Don't toss the old switch, as it might be repaired.  I've taken many apart & got them working good as new again.

Some of you know I was fortunate to become the guardian of some extensive Bush Hog literature and information that originally came from the Bush Hog factory in Galesburg, KS.  I was reading through some of it last week and a piece of the puzzle was solved. I always wondered why the M-50 mower? I had an owners instructions manual but I had never really paid much attention to it. I have never seen a BH with this deck. Well in some hand written notes, I read where this deck was for the HW-12 tractor. I will post the manual in the BH manual section today. (of course once I read the manual- the back page mentions HD-12- but according to the notes it was for the HW-12 but I am sure you could buy it for the HD as well) This optional deck never made it to any of the printed price list that I have in my collection.

I took the nos seat to an upholstery place to see if he could match it up. The picture shows two new seat cushions and one new back cushion. I need to have the other back cushion made now that I have seen his work.
