I'm looking for a carb kit for a six horse tecumseh I have on an old Sears chipper. Does anyone know a good website to locate tecumseh parts? Napa was little help and only could come up with a diaphram. I didn't see my carb on Jack's small engines either. I'm guessing this thing to be late sixties early seventies. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

I don't necessarily want to steer you away from the internet for your purchase, but if you have an older, well established repair shop that sells parts in your area, give them a chance to serve you. Our local shop is very knowledgeable about the older engines and usually knows right away whether or not they're available and where to best get them. It is also my understanding that someone bought the Tecumseh name has started to reproduce some of the parts from the original prints also. This is just my $.02, hope that it helps.

I would like to add also like caseguy said if you have a local shop or one of this site's sponsors like bhts posted. I even use this site for a shortcut to the sponsor's first when I'm looking for parts.

I haven't had good luck with local dealers myself. The last time I needed a few simple Tec. parts like a carb kit and a head gasket it look them a month to get the parts in and the cost was double that of an online supplier.

I typed in tecumseh on your site but i didn't see what I was looking for. The engine is a 143 226323 serial#2145D. And it has a Lauson Power Products carb. 6hp motor.
