Well, got the new shoes on the G11 and decided to do a quick vid with it running and moving under it's own power.

Something that has occurred to me is that maybe we are wrong to be calling the G11 the "The Rainbow Bolens".

I'm beginning to think of it as "The Sunset Bolens". The reason being the colors of the decal. Like the bright yellow sun shading into the orange at sunset.

Also, the G11 was the very last 'new' model in the last year of the tube frame production...thus, "The Sun Setting on the Tube Frame Series".

Anyway, here's the vid.

Thanks for the video

I like your thinking on the "sunset Bolens" That fits perfectly I wonder if that's why they decided to use those decals.

On a side note since were talking about odd Bolens:
There was also an oddball tubeframe in the final years I think around 78'-79' where they had an H16 that was painted green and white and had the newer style green/white Bolens decals. My Bolens dealer near me said that they stopped selling them in 79'

I'll see if I can find a pic....

Thanks for the video. Are you going to do a restoration or use it as is?

Unlike my other tractors that are in original 'working' condition, I think that this one needs a total restore, since it's so rare.

As for the tubeframe thread, I've decided I'm going to redo the whole thing as more info is now available on some models and I wasnt really proud of that thread anymore since it had parts missing and was "outdated"
When I get more time I will try and finish it.

Yep, thats the factory muffler but looks a bit bent outward as it should be closer to the hood.
  • IamSherwood said thank you
