Replacing Front Axle

i want to put the new axle on my ford yt16h but im not sure which way it needs to go.
here is the pic of it.

does the tabs go towards the front or back?
do i need to have zert holes drilled?

I don't know YT's, but my best guess is the tabs go to the back. This keeps pressure against the framework when traveling forward, thus less wear.

dan, the one thats on there is a stamped one not cast like this one.
kenny , i was kinda thinking the same but not sure.
i may call a ford/new holland dealer tomorrow after work.

What's the model # of the tractor? Might be able to look it up in New Holland Parts.

thanks kenny. i never thought to look there. looks like the 2 tabs go under the tractor and hooks to a bracket
