That's too bad, because it looks like the gentleman isn't really looking after his treasures very well.
Maybe you should revisit him in a couple months, and see if he'll let you save them.

Yep, Galesburg, KS. I've been there. Picked up some NOS Bush Hog parts.

Galesburg is only about an hour from me, you'd think they'd be plenty of them around here!

It's at least 14-15 hrs from my home, but I was to be in Kansas City for a dairy meeting already, so I arranged to pick the parts up after my meeting was over. I couldn't go inside the tiny Shaw museum, as the old gent who takes care of it was ill.

When I am buying one of these GT's , I always explain to the owner that we do this because we like it not for the money. (If they want to make money there may be 3-5 "good parts" that will bring good money. The rest will just sit there. ) I tell them the truth, there is no big money in them. If I buy and restore it , i may get $600 for it. So paying over $100-150 for a non running gt with no idea what condition the motor is in is not a doable deal for me. Once you explain the math, they at least have an idea what the reality is. We do this for the love of it! And to mow our grass or push some snow :-) Hope it works out for you!

Apparently " a while back" someone offered him "alot of money" for them. So now I guess he has an inflated Idea of what they are worth.
Honestly a restored one only goes for $600 or so?
Wow...that's pretty cheap! LOL
The restored value really means nothing to me, as a buddy of mine says; "I keep all my tractors in work clothes" !
