I had a guy call today asking if I was interested in a CC 169. Tractor Data says only 4005 of them were made and all in 1974. He says he has two of them. Just wondering if they are "rare"?

Thanks,
Bill

One of the best. They are one of the rarest Cubs to find.Quite a few of them left the factory with manual rather than hydraulic lifts for the simple fact that they were introduced into production later than the rest of the first series of wide frames and IH didn't have enough lifts for the 149's and 169's both. They are the same as a 149 other than having a 16 horse Kohler over a 14 horse Kohler.

If you can get it for a good price snatch it up. They are definitely worth it. Like the other guys said there are not that many around.

Not yet. The guy is supposed to call me tomorrow to set up a time for him to bring one over to look at it. Too much to do during our three or four months of bad snowmobiling weather up here.

Probably only 70 miles west south west of Rogers City as the plane flies.

The owner brought the tractor on Thursday and I got it up on the workbench this morning. He and a friend rebuilt the engine over a two year period and it seems to run OK once it gets started but it acts like the compression release is not working properly and it will not turn over all the way until the key is bumped a couple of times. The engine is still the best thing about the tractor. It marks it's territory when it is left sitting, the pivot pin for the front axle is pulled out of the rear hole, both steering tie rod ends are stripped out and the tires pointed hard middle off the trailer. Moved around OK when I put a floor jack under the front axle to steer it.

Moved to the Mechanical Forum.
