That is a nice looking tractor! That looks like it will make a nice tractor. Do you plan on doing a restoration?

I just had to run up to the barn and take the pics for you tonight!
Here's the front view of the recoil.

Here's a side view of it.

As you can see it's a heavy cast aluminum construction. Very sturdy!
Oh, and I was wrong. Mine's an H55A, but the recoils should be the same. Mine's missing the starter.

Here's the only picture that I have of the 551??? I swear I took some more, but I can't find them. As you can see, mine's a little more colorful than yours LOL

I have acquired a good set of the right front wheels and a spare axle and steering gear for it too...and now I have the engine!
...About the steering wheel, PM sent.

Thanks. It is in pretty decent shape. The color is wonky, but It kept the rust away! Yes, I do intend to do a full restore on it when I get the time. Now that I have most of the correct parts for it, that time is drawing nearer.

Sorry, you were reading faster than I type LOL. You should have it now.

That's one thing I want to do for this tractor. I have a pieced together 61 suburban that I put a 3hp briggs on and painted it up for my little girl but I am looking to do a compete restoration for this one. I just love the little suburbans and rj's.

LOL sorry. I got it now.

Well I found a pull start on ebay. I am the sucker that bought the lauson engine on ebay that didn't have the carb or starter and was basically in shambles...BUT I bought strictly for the recoil starter. I'm happy and I have a completed engine now so if anyone needs parts for a lauson h55b let me know and I will see what I have.

Congrats! You're not a sucker as long as you knew what you were getting when you agreed to buy. You got what you needed out of the deal and that's what matters! I'm glad that you found one and would love to see some pics of the during the restoration!

I think I over paid on shipping but I thought to myself, when is the next time one of these will be for sale? lol. I paid $85 total shipped. I think I would have paid that for the recoil starter lol I am happy and the sign of a good deal is when both people walk away happy.

I will def keep you guys updated on the restoration. I want this to be a factory original resto since I have a mostly original tractor to begin with.
