Hi guys,
On my D4-10, my mowing deck model M-42, I am looking for the belt that goes from the mower to the engine. Now in my M-42 manual I found the "hitch kit" for the direct drive models. OEM part number S2214 which says round belt 1/2x78. Hydraulic and V4-7 series are different.

Anyone know where I can order one and if that's the correct belt? Thanks!

Titus,

Sorry I saw your email on the bush hog group just have not had time to do any research....been selling my Sears stuff and uploading all my sears manuals on the site. I looked at the belt sheet I posted and it says a Gates Round 1/2 -74 for the model....yet like you have read.... the manual for the M-42 says a 1/2 -78 belt.....I noticed and verified the M-32 deck I have takes the same Gates round 1/2-78 belt.....I will look further.....if I have one I will get the number off of it and let you know.....I have gone through my belt box 1 time and did not find what I thought the belt should look like.....I will look again and let you know.

I measured the round belt that came off my T63 with the M32 deck......it measured about 72".....I do not have any other round belts ......I have one octagon type belt but it was smaller than the T63 belt...... I would say around 62" or so.....

If you do find the correct let us all know please......my decks are the farthest from my mind as far as restoration and running......so it will be a while till I get to them......hopefully by then you will have all the info so I don't have to look :p ......hopefully I will post something that will help you and the rest as well during that time

Thanks for getting back to me, I hope other members with belts on their working mowers can chime in :) I'd love to have this up and running before the fall.

I may have a deck belt somewhere, so I'll try & check. I also haven't gotten to restoring a deck yet. I hardly ever do, as I just usually restore the tractors & stash the decks away out of the weather.

I have the round deck as well and looking for the correct belt size for that also.

http://gardentractor...r-mowing-again/

Reading this, he got the 84" belt and from what I understand it's the incorrect length, but didn't go on to say what the correct length is. Does anyone have that info handy? I saw the spec sheet on here but can't find it now with the belt lengths.

Perfect thank you! Now the round mower is the M32B according to my manual. On the page linked above, I see the M42A (3 blade which I own also)and M32, but no B from what I can see. Am I to assume the M32 is the M32B? On the link for the belt sizes, it says for the M32 for direct drive models, it's calling for a 1/2" X 78". And the 74" for the M42A mower.

Is that all correct? I'll likely need to order these from NAPA to find out, but wanted to try and confirm with anyone before I did. Thanks again!

I'll have to leave those answers for the guru's on these tractors. I just found the belt guide!

According to my M32B manual the belt is a 1/2 x 78" round belt. Hope that helps.

Well I ordered both from NAPA and they will be delivered in an hour, both the 74 and 78 inch. I'll mount both and see what happens :) I'll even post some photos ;)

Got everything mounted only to come and find out my drive pan on the clutch is bent plus the bearing is tight. So before installing I'm going to need part 2371& part 2319.

Is there anything I can retrofit to make work? The back of the clutch looks like it crumbled long ago and will not fit into the pan anymore.

Or if anyone has any photos of the setup, the manual photo I have, but would like to see some real photos to make some sense of all this.

I can take a picture of mine tomorrow....it is on my rusty one so not sure if it will work either....but think it is all there.

Maybe some one has another one in better condition.
