Wow neat story....if you like the old Shelby's.....and I some how missed Carroll Shelby had died this month....I loved his early work!

Just thought it was an interesting find.......I have it on my watch list to see how much it sells for.

Mine too Kenny!! But it will interesting to see what it goes for! I personally like the 69 and 70 body over the other body styles......I think the 70's were left over 69's if my memory serves me correct. I remember seeing my first Shelby as a boy in south GA.....was a 69-70 green just like this one....hard top.......ever since then I have always wanted the GT500 convertible.......but they were always high...$35,000 and going up when I first started looking a them.....then what do you do with it when you get one?? Store it?? These cars did not have AC (think this is right).....and I got to have AC!! :laughingteeth: So they have never been it my price range and never will.....but I can dream......

Do any of you guys remember the Bill Cosby comedy record from the 60's called 200mph. He does a hillarious recollection of him getting a car from Shelby (this actually happened) and how crazy fast it was. It was supposed to do 200mph. I guess we finally have a production Shelby that will do that. That is a staggering amount of power in the new GT500 and would be totally unmanagable for most people.

The story on this car puts me in mind of the phrase, "Owned by a little old lady that beat the crap out of it"

Over $58,000 now and the reserve still isn't met. I wouldn't give more than $30,000 myself. It has a LOT wrong with it.

Ya this is a complete restore...and we tractor guys are quite familiar with what that means...ultimately because of the matching numbers you'd have a super valued car...however to get there will take an incredible amount of time and $. I wonder what the reserve price is?

I am usually a Mopar guy, but the GT500 is a pretty sweet ride!
