Well I've always had a love for tractors and now it really got the best of me. I picked up a 1960's Springfield 36 with belly deck. I wasn't going to get another tractor but I couldn't pass this one up. Restoration starts soon. I've operated everything from small riding mowers all the way to large JD and Kubota Farm tractors. It's always been in my blood. No denying it now. I'm hooked and would buy 10 more if my wife wouldn't kick me out. Anyways hello from Indiana. Here are some pics with my co-driver.2012-05-20 20.31.57.jpg 2012-05-20 20.31.57.jpg 2012-05-20 20.32.16.jpg 2012-05-20 20.42.55.jpg It does not have the original engine. I am going to probably look for the original this winter, but for now we are gonna cruise it with that one.

Welcome to the forum! Nice Springfield. We don't see many of them. It's a pretty sturdy looking machine.

 dropped82! Welcome to GTTalk! Casey (wvbuzzmaster) is gonna smell that Springfield! He'll be by shortly to say hi. That's a really nice looking example of one for sure! Did I read correctly that you already have one Springfield 36 and this is your second? The co-driver apparently has dibbs on that one...looks like you're gonna have to find yet another one! Thanks for signing up!

This is my first. I wish I had 10. I love the looks of these things. Reminds me of a farm tractor shrunk down. I was looking at it today and its missing a few parts like the deck lift bar and I think there is a manual lift system for the rear. What I'm assuming is the PTO lever is froze. I have the deck also but do not plan on using it. My plans are ag tires possibly fluid filled. I'm gonna make a weight bar for the front. Of course this is after the tear down and repaint. I've read up on the electrolysis and may attempt that. I am actually thinking of looking for a possible trade for another attachment in exchange for this deck. Its gonna become a worker soon enough. Hence the firewood in the background.
